Terms of Service for PetDose

1. Use of the App

• Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent. The App is intended for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary students, and related professionals or entities.
• License: We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal or professional purposes on an Apple device you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple App Store rules.
• Purpose: PetDose provides tools for calculating anesthesia drug dosages for healthy canine and feline patients based on weight, saving patient information, generating print-ready PDFs, and reviewing past calculations. It is not a substitute for professional veterinary judgment or medical advice.
• Restrictions: You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer the App, or use it in any way that violates applicable laws, veterinary regulations, or these Terms.

2. User Accounts

To access certain features (e.g., saving patient data or history logs), you may need to create an account. You are responsible for providing accurate information (e.g., name, username, email, age, profession) and keeping your account credentials secure. You are liable for all activity under your account.

3. Privacy

We collect certain data, including your name, username, email, age, and profession (e.g., Veterinarian, Veterinary Student, Veterinary Technician, Other), as well as patient-related data you input (e.g., patient name, owner name, ID, age, procedure). Our collection and use of this information are governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we handle your data.

4. Payments

• Current Status: PetDose is currently free to use with no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
• Future Updates: We reserve the right to introduce in-app purchases, subscriptions, or paid services in the future. If implemented, such payments will be processed through the Apple App Store and subject to their payment terms. We do not control refunds or billing disputes; please contact Apple for support.

5. User Content

• Ownership: You retain ownership of the content you post on or through the App, such as comments, photos, patient records, notes, or other materials ("User Content"). This includes any intellectual property rights you have in that content (e.g., copyright to your original notes or images).
• License to Us: By posting User Content on or in connection with the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, use, distribute, modify, run, copy, publicly perform or display, translate, and create derivative works of your User Content. This license allows us to operate, promote, and improve the App and to develop new products, services, or features (e.g., research, analytics, or future tools) using your content, in any media or format, now or in the future.
• Duration: This license continues until your User Content is fully deleted from the App by you or us, provided no one else has retained or shared it (e.g., if another user saved your PDF). Even after deletion, we may retain backup copies for a reasonable period as part of our data management practices.
• Responsibility: You agree that your User Content will not: (a) infringe on intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties; (b) contain illegal, offensive, or harmful material; or (c) violate veterinary or medical ethics or applicable laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). We may remove content that violates these Terms or our policies.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the App to:

• Engage in harassment, abuse, or threats against others.
• Submit illegal content or promote illegal activities.
• Interfere with the App's functionality (e.g., through hacking or malware).
• Misrepresent your professional qualifications or use the App for purposes beyond its intended scope.
• Share sensitive patient data in violation of applicable privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, or local regulations).

7. Intellectual Property

• Our IP: All App content, including the interface, dosage calculation algorithms, design, and any materials we provide (excluding User Content), is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks, logos, or copyrighted materials without our explicit permission.
• Your IP: As stated in Section 5, you own your User Content, but the license you grant us allows broad use for our purposes, including developing other products and services. If you use any content provided by us within the App (e.g., templates or tools), we retain all rights to that content.
• Infringement: You may not post content that infringes others' intellectual property rights. We may remove such content and take action against your account for repeated violations. If you believe your IP rights are infringed within the App, contact us at codeandcraft3d@gmail.com to report it.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at our discretion, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, misuse the App, or for any other reason we deem necessary.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Dosage calculations are for healthy patients and based on standard veterinary data; we do not guarantee their suitability for all cases. You assume full responsibility for verifying results and applying professional judgment.

We do not guarantee the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all devices.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (e.g., loss of data, miscalculated dosages, or professional liability) arising from your use of the App. Our total liability will not exceed $1.99.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.

12. Worldwide Availability

The App is available worldwide. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with local laws and veterinary regulations in your region.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of changes by posting the updated Terms in the App or via email. Your continued use after the update constitutes acceptance.
